Jarlath O'Carroll · Founder

From Dublin to San Francisco — by way of every layer of the stack.

Jarlath started his career as a developer on IBM micro-kernel systems in the early 1990s, helped Wells Fargo become one of the first banks in the world to put customer accounts online, and has been close to the front line of new technology adoption ever since — through Schwab's first online brokerage in the UK, Deloitte's largest UK public sector programs, and the launch of AI-driven products at The Filter and Jobspeaker.

He now runs Oisin, advising leaders on how to build AI products that hold up beyond the demo: how to choose the right model, design the human-in-the-loop processes around it, integrate cleanly with the customer's existing systems, and measure what's actually working.

Jarlath holds an M.S. in Management from London Business School and studied Computer Science at Dublin Institute of Technology / Technological University Dublin. He is named on a pending patent for an AI skills-based workforce content mapping and agent system.

Four principles that show up in every engagement.

Operator-first thinking

The right answer usually lies in the constraints — regulatory, organizational, technical — that show up only when you've actually shipped. Oisin engages with those constraints from day one, not in the appendix.

AI as part of the system

An LLM is one component in a product, not the product. Evaluation, fallback paths, human-in-the-loop, CRM/ERP integration, monitoring, and a clear escalation story all matter as much as model choice.

Senior, small, accountable

You won't be handed off to a junior team. Engagements are deliberately small so that the work is done by people who can also be held responsible for the outcome.

Built for handover

The goal is to leave your team stronger, not more dependent. Frameworks, playbooks and operating cadences are documented and trained-in, not held as billable IP.

The work behind the practice.
